Electrolysis Hair Removal
Electrolysis hair removal uses electric current that is applied through a metal probe or a very fine electrode that is shaped like a needle into every hair follicle to damage the root, thus stops hair follicles from growing. Electrolysis procedures could be done in three different types: thermolysis, galvanic, and blend.
Sources suggest that it is the only FDA approved method when it comes to permanent removal of facial and body hair. Though 100% hair removal cannot be guaranteed for everyone, its advantage is that it would not require multiple sessions for positive results, like how it is with the other hair removal treatments, though a series of treatments might be recommended for best results.
Electrolysis in practice
Electrolysis hair removal has been tested over time and it was invented over 100 years ago. At the present, application of electrolysis can be done on the face, eyebrows, breasts, abdomen, thighs, lower legs and upper legs. There are no known permanent side effects, though it is reported that slight reddening of the skin happens during and right after the treatment. Such redness lasts only for a short time and other than that, electrolysis is still considered to be a very safe procedure.
Electrolysis has the best track record among the other methods for permanent body and facial hair removal. It can be beneficial for many different types of hair and skin shades. It would not target the pigment of the hair like how it is done in laser, but rather hits the hair follicle itself. Thus, those who are not very good candidates for laser hair removal may still benefit from electrolysis hair removal.
